Morgan Metallico Monterey County Un-oaked Chrdonnay 2009

Appearance: Clear, bright, very pale gold color consistent to a water-white rim.

Nose: Clean with a medium(-) intensity of indistinct tropical fruits with a hint of melon.

Palate: Dry, full-bodied with mouth-watering acidity. The fruit character is pronounced ripe tropical fruit, similar to the nose, with a hint of peach. No indication of alcohol burn (13.5%ABV).

Finish/Length: Clean, refreshing finish with a medium(+) length of citrus and indistinct tropical fruit that seems is almost ripe in nature but not sweet.

Conclusion: This is a well balanced wine sampled at room temperature (about 65 degrees F) that held its character. Retail price is about US$18.00 and seems have the balance and quality to back up the price.

Producer Notes: Metallico's aromatics are intense with pineapple and lemon, complemented by mang and jasmine. The palate has ripe fruit flavors of white peach, guava and lemon. Crisp, food-friendly acidity keeps this special wine refreshing and bright. A perfect match for shellfish, Asian-Fusion cuisine, or any spicy dishes.
